[from HLPF's announcement]
The Humanitarian Law and Policy Forum is pleased to announce a Live Seminar on IHL and the "Global War on Terror", the next in a series of interactive seminars focusing on contemporary challenges to international humanitarian law.
This seminar will address practical questions confronting humanitarian professionals working in today's conflict environments. Claude Bruderlein, Director of the Program on Humanitarian Policy and Conflict Research at Harvard University, and Naz Modirzadeh, Senior Associate at HPCR, will discuss the changing nature of armed conflict, the role and impact of transnational armed groups, and applicable legal frameworks.
This seminar is an integral part of the Online Course on Humanitarian Law and Policy, accessible via the IHL Forum at http://ihlforum.ning.com. This Course is provided at no cost to professionals from the humanitarian community.
During the Live Seminar, participants will be able to send their questions and comments to the hosts and engage on these critical issues.
